McDonald's Worldwide

When I think of globalization, the first thing that pops up in my head is something that is seen globally ever day. McDonald's has over 35,000(top picture is from 2014) restaurants in countries all around the world. The reasoning behind choosing McDonald's as my picture representing globalization is because they have been able to go into different countries around the world and adapt to different markets. Ways that McDonald's adapts to different markets is by changing the menu in certain countries to accommodate the people in those countries. Some examples of this is in Thailand, McDonald's serves chicken teriyaki rice; in Korea, they serve McChurros; and in Puerto Rico, they serve sweet plantains. I strongly believe the reason that McDonald's has been so successful is because of their ability to adapt to the different markets. They don't only change up the menu, but they also change the languages that everything is written in. For example, in the United States, the main language is English so everything is written in English, but in China the main language is Chinese so everything is written in Chinese.
